June 1st, 2017: Looking Back

Last week, a jihadist terrorist targeted and murdered children and young adults enjoying a pop concert in Manchester, UK. Amongst the 22 victims was eight-year-old Saffie Rose Roussos.

As True North’s Candice Malcolm mentions in her column, ISIS has “no sense of decency, no honour, no shame, no code of conduct, no rules of engagement”.

We are waging war against a barbaric death cult. It’s time for western civilization to stand up against Islamist terrorism.

We cannot carry on as we did before, because before we were not doing enough to stop barbaric jihadists from committing deadly attacks. Vigils, candles, hashtags, and diversity is simply not enough to overcome the evil that is ISIS.

It was revealed that British police and security forces were aware of the troubled history of Salman Abedi, the terrorist that attacked the Manchester Arena. Yet officials failed to stop him.

We need tougher laws so officials can arrest, detain and charge those who travel abroad to fight alongside terrorist armies, as well as those who support a violent Islamist doctrine. Monitoring these radicals is not enough.
